Winterfold Forest

Located in Surrey Hills the Winterfold Forest is one of a kind !
This place invites you to discover it and wander around...

Which, of course, I gladly did ๐Ÿ˜Š
At several times I just wondered where were hiding the fairies...

This forest is really a beautiful place, full of life, even though you can't see it, or briefly, you can definitely hear it all along your way.

I'd like to go there again, but this time very early in the morning and play a bit with the fog and the morning colours, see a bit more of wild life and enjoy a nice sunrise !

Cholla Cactus Garden

I love Cacti, I can't explain why but I find them awesome and beautiful ๐Ÿ˜
Last February I was in California and while visiting the Joshua Tree National Park I came accross something that caught my eye on the map : "Cholla Cactus Garden" - I had to check that out !
And I'm so glad I did, what a beautiful place, cacti everywhere !

The place is really awesome and the cacti are looking great with a lot of strong spines.

If you're around I would definitely recommend to go and see by yourself. There are plenty of trails to do in the National Park, it would be a shame to miss it.

Blackberries paradise

This period is one of the best for fruits picking alongside the trails. And this year was very good ! Overall, almost 3 kilos of blackberries picked up !!!

With all of them I did some cooking, several pies and a "compote" with apples too. I also kept some of them to eat just like this and with yogurts. Can't wait for next year !

Canal walk

Basingstoke canal

Last Saturday I went to the Basingstoke Canal, in Surrey. I've been walking around but never done it and I've been curious about it since a long time, the weather was perfect so off I went. It's a very long canal (49,89 kms - 31 miles) and I did 25 kms (15,53 miles) round trip on it. From Woking to the Basingstoke Canal centre.

Strangely enough, there isn't many people walking around which makes it even more magical.
I find the end of summer the best time to wander around, it's peaceful and the colours are slowly starting to change which offers a beautiful display.

All along the canal there are some old constructions and old wood "doors" acting as dams.

If you're looking closely here you'll see deers between the trees <3

A walk that I'll definitely do again and again. I love this place and I can't wait to see how beautiful it will be in the middle of the fall.
